After I'd developed and started selling Itty Bitty Birdie Bites©, so many people asked me if I could make a healthier treat option for larger birds also. It took some trial and error, but a few weeks later Bigger Birdie Bites© ready for testing. Volunteer taste tester birds overwhelmingly gave this new treat wings-up, and the rest, as they say, is history!

Like the original Itty Bitty Birdie Bites, original flavor Bigger Birdie Bites (BBBs) is made up of primarily vegetables and grains - plus some carefully-selected greens, herbs, and a little egg - but there are some seemingly minor but important differences. First, I don't use corn meal in BBBs which cuts down on phosphorus to avoid some of the calcium utilization issues that some of the larger parrots tend to have. Second, I have omitted the spicy aspect of original Itty Bitty Birdie Bites. Third, I use some of the same ingredients, but in different amounts for a different taste that was shown to be more readily accepted by many larger parrots. And finally, BBBs have a hint of sweetness that comes from "just a titch" of organic blackstrap molasses.

In addition to offering wholesome human-grade ingredients, BBBs have a shape that entices parrots to beak-play and tasting, and a texture that won't crumble with the first bite.
