For several years I've mentioned the dry mixes I feed my own flock. Not to be confused with "seed mixes", dry mixes are a cage food that contain an assortment of goodies, from germinated and gently dried seeds and grains, to fruits (unsulfured of course!), veggies, nuts, and other tasty healthy foods. Why would I feed these when there are already lots of bird foods already on the market, you ask? Well, the reason is that, like you, I'm picky about what I feed my birds. I want quality. And yes, there are excellent quality foods, certainly, already available...IF I can pay the price. I've found that I can purchase the ingredients (including organic seeds, grains, and legumes!) individually and do the drying - at temperatures and air flow that *I* control - and mixing myself for a fraction of what I would have to pay for it already done. And, I know that I can produce them for your birds, providing both quality and value!
