First, I use only human-grade, quality ingredients, and hand-select every jalapeno or sweet potato or cranberry that I use. Yes, every single one. They are each cleaned and prepared by hand, one by one. When it comes to the meals and flours that I use, many of them I mill myself from grains and other foods that I also carefully select. Bruises and blemishes aren't acceptable to me, nor are misshapen or discolored nuts or grains or anything else. When you use our foods, you can know that there's nothing in them that has questionable quality. If there's any question, it doesn't get used in my foods.

Second, the whole point of Itty Bitty Birdie Bites food and treats is to provide a healthy addition to birds' diets, or an alternative to treats that contain chemical additives that I don't feel comfortable feeding to my flock. Making a food that adds nutritional elements is a wonderful goal, but making these foods with a taste and texture that birds will actually EAT is the challenge. I've experimented with various shapes and textures and learned birds won't eat some foods in one shape or texture, but if I use the exact same recipe and just change the processing somewhat, suddenly the same food is something they go crazy for!

Third, when you buy food and treats for me, you are getting foods that I developed for my own beloved flock. These I created to be as natural and of the highest quality possible, which adds healthy veggies, grains, fruits, etc. to their diets in a delicious way. I make no claims other than this. None of my foods are a complete diet; nobody knows what a complete diet for every species of parrot is. I won't deceive anyone by claiming these foods are anything they can't possibly be. It is my hope that legitimate independent research with both wild and captive parrots will bring us more of the answers we need, but until that time comes, I don't claim to have answers that don't exist, just to sell my foods. They are simply a tasty part of a varied diet, containing the most natural and healthful human-grade ingredients I can find, carefully handled and processed to provide additional nutritional content; no more, no less.

Lastly, every single batch I make is tested by my quality control team, consisting of Bey the Greyt (African Grey), Maxwell (red-bellied), Elliot (Meyer's), Pokey (23YO cockatiel), Miracle and Chuckie (greencheek conures), Chloe, Phoebe and Joey (pionus parrots), Jack, Rose, Precious, Papa, and Punkin (lovebirds), and Klinger and Trapper (cockatiels). (Each of my foods has also been taste-tested by humans as well!) I've never had it happen yet, but should any food not be given their peck of approval, that batch will be discarded and not sold. Only the best for my flock, only the best for your birds. You have my word on it.
